Thousands of displaced families living in camps struggle to access even the most basic necessities. Without regular sources of income, obtaining food becomes increasingly difficult. For households with children, older people or many family members, preparing a hot meal during the day can itself be a serious challenge.
Many families living in tents do not have a suitable kitchen, cooking fuel or enough food supplies. Ready-to-eat hot meals therefore play an important role in meeting their daily nutritional needs.
Destekol sets up field kitchens within camp areas to help displaced families access food. Teams prepare hot, nourishing meals every day and deliver them to families in need. Children, older people and families requiring greater support are given priority during distribution.
